Elevate Bermuda Together: Introducing the AnchorBDA Programme
Bermuda’s hospitality and tourism industry is set for an exciting transformation with the launch of the AnchorBDA Programme—a brand-new ambassadorship initiative from the Bermuda Tourism Authority’s (BTA) Tourism Standards and Training Team. Designed to empower residents with specialized knowledge and skills, this programme is a major step toward positioning Bermuda as a world-class destination.
A New Era in Hospitality Training
Built upon the foundation of the former Certified Tourism Ambassador programme, AnchorBDA is a Bermuda-led certification that reflects the island’s unique culture and hospitality standards. This new programme aims to:
- Strengthen participants’ understanding of Bermuda’s tourism industry
Ensure consistent, high-quality service standards across the island
Provide essential skills to deliver exceptional visitor experiences
Certified under the City & Guilds Assured quality mark, AnchorBDA offers internationally recognized credibility, ensuring that graduates meet global training benchmarks. Those who complete the six-course programme will earn a certificate and a co-branded digital credential/badge, verifying their expertise in Bermuda’s hospitality sector.
What’s Covered in the Programme?
Participants will dive into six key courses:
National Tourism Plan 2019-2026 – Understanding Bermuda’s long-term vision for tourism growth
Understanding Hospitality and Tourism in Bermuda – A deep dive into the local industry

A Call to Action for Bermuda’s Residents
BTA CEO Tracy Berkeley described the programme as more than just a training initiative—it’s a movement to foster local pride and enhance Bermuda’s reputation on the global stage.
Tourism Standards & Training Manager Davida O’Brien emphasized the programme’s accessibility, stating:
“AnchorBDA was designed by Bermudians, for Bermudians. This industry touches everyone, and we want to ensure every visitor interaction is memorable and of the highest standard.”
